Rebound in an attractive crushed morocco, the binding is signed 'R. W. & H. B. 1962'. With full plate illustrations.An account of the troubled marriage of King George IV and his wife, Caroline of Brunswick. Upon their first meeting, she regarded him as 'very fat' and 'nothing like as handsome as his portrait', while the future King regarded Caroline as unattractive and unhygienic. From this initial impression, the state of their relations deteriorated. The work of Joanna Richardson, who over the course of her career completed twenty-one biographies of writers, poets and other historical figures. Rebound in a full crushed morocco signed binding. Some discolouration to back strip, with boards bright. Internally, firmly bound. Minor light spotting to title page, with pages otherwise clean and bright. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
