She is considered one of the "Founding Mothers" of Libertarianism, along with Ayn Rand and Isabel Paterson, each of whom published significant books in 1943. <br /> <br /> Lane was the daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the Little House on the Prairie series of children's books.
