Scuffing to edges and corners. Several closed tears to spine covering. Both hinges overopened but attached. Three leaves of front matter (including the map) loose and laid in. Some tears to edges, and several gatherings are loosely attached. Interior otherwise very good and clean.
This is a first edition of Parkman's history of the American West. It is the third volume (each issued separately) from a series of seven books on the history of European colonization in North America. (Howes P98; Sabin 58802).
