Former library reference book. xix, [1], 1264, [2] pp., 39 foldout plates. Hardcover, green and red buckram, gilt lettering bright and clean, minimal signs of shelf wear (corners, spine top and tail only slightly worn). Text block solid. Pages are toned but otherwise clean and unmarked except for minimal library markings. There is a handwritten signature on the verso of the title page, but it is indecipherable. Includes 39 foldout plates, four more than in the 5th edition. The plates are numbered diagrams for "technical" items range from an atomic power station to forging machines to radio signals to colors. Only #2, aircraft, and #8, automobile, are severely worn (multiple tiny rips) at the fold. The one for colors is in color.
