The first of a new [at the time] imprint featuring literary properties deemed worthy of another opportunity to be noticed. Based on the true story of two Irish laborers who, tired of waiting for people to die on their own, start helping them do so, to the evil end of selling the cadavers to the emminent anatomist Dr. Knox, who, it seems, couldn't get enough of them. The screenplay was originally commissioned by a small studio, for whom Thomas had already written "The Conquest of a Germ". The Doctor and the Devils was finally produced in 1985 and met with mixed success.
