Sobre este artículo

Philadelphia/New York: F. A. Stokes, 1943. First American Edition . Hardcover. Very Good+/Fair. Lofting, Hugh. Third in the series of charming stories about the wondrous doctor, who in this volume creates a mail service for the birds & animals who are his faithful friends. Orig. published in 1923, this is the 15th Printing of that First Edition from 1943, in 359 pages with pen-and-ink illustrations by the author throughout text, along with a full-color frontispiece & all endpapers. Hardcover 8vo has light blue-gray cloth-over-boards with a colorful front paper pastedown, lighter green design & lettering to both front & spine. Condition is VG+: exceptionally clean inside, but light spotting & dust dulling to outer page edges, a few foxed spots/light soil to boards. Binding tight & square, pages lightly tanned to edges, but unmarked. Hinges secure. The unclipped DJ is downgraded to only Fair due to light soil, spotting, & a few short tears & chips. Section in center of title seems to have been rubbed away & relettered in black by hand by former owner. Looks nice protected in new mylar cover. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
