First Edition. 8vo. 327 pp. Green cloth decorated in gilt, green and white on the front panel; lettered in gilt on the spine; illustrated endpapers; frontis map. Light wear on the corners with some minor rubbing on the panels; short tear on the half-title page; no interior markings; hinges tight, gutters intact. Born in 1871 and died in 1916, Norman Duncan made several trips to Labrador and Newfoundland, where he set a number of his novels. Doctor Luke was clearly based on the adventures of Wilfred Grenfell..
