Boston, Osgood, 1876, dated 1876 on title page, there is an earlier copyright which I believe was for the first edition and pub. By Ticknor & Fields. The author died in 1864. hardcover, dark green embossed cloth, beveled cover edges, sound square tight copy, mild slant to spine, inner hinges sound and uncracked, dark brown endpapers, the front endpaper had been glued to the following page and later torn loose, leaving a half-moon shapped piece of the brown endpaper still attached to the following leaf, very light eraseable pencil original owner name on top margin of the title page, text mildly and evenly age-toned.
