Sinopsis

Tired of the everyday grind? Got a lousy tension headache? Having crazy thoughts about tossing your boss out a window, feeding your old man through the blender, bricking up your wife in the basement? Need an escape before you do something nasty? Here's a book that may help for a few minutes, long enough to catch your breath. Sixteen stories of mayhem and panic, fear and fantasy by the writer the Louisville Courier-Journal & Times says "is currently the leading craftsman in the literature of terror and dread": Harlan Ellison winner of the Mystery Writers of America award for Best Short Story (included here). This book will at least reassure you: even looneytune paranoids really have enemies.

Sobre Village Lights Bookstore, ABAA/ILAB

Village Lights opened as a brick-and-mortar shop in November of 2008, a "mom & pop" business, locally owned and independent, with the proprietors, Nathan Montoya and Anne Vestuto, living above the shop. For fifteen years, as a full-service general bookstore, we offered a carefully curated selection of quality used and new books.

In January of 2024, Village Lights transitioned to a rare and antiquarian book shop located on the second floor of our building. We now offer a modest, but growing, eclectic selection of rare, antiquarian, and out-of-print books, with strength in modern firsts and signed copies. We also sell handmade letterpress books and broadsides from Larkspur Press.

We carefully grade our books in accordance with IOBA Book Condition Definitions (https://www.ioba.org/conditions-definitions), describe them using standard ABAA terminology (https://www.abaa.org/glossary), and painstakingly package them to prevent damage in transit. We value direct communication, so please feel free to call if you have questions about our listings or to confirm that an item is still on hand.

We invite you to visit our website or make an appointment to visit us on Main Street in the heart of downtown Madison, Indiana, the country's largest contiguous National Historic Landmark District and a Designated Indiana Cultural District, on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River.
