Sobre este artículo

Hodder and Stoughton 1970 1st edition.. Size 5.5 x 8.75 inches. In black cloth covers with gilt to spine. With illustrated dustwrapper. Maps on endpapers. In very good condition with very good dustwrapper (dw; Price clipped. Some minor rubbing ends of spine, small faint mark on verso lower edge). Inside a few faint foxing spots on early pages else a clean and tight copy. 215pp. With 39 b/w photo plates and maps and plans. This well-balanced account of how the Dorset landscape came to be as it is, relies mainly on the evidence on the ground, backed up by place-names, the Domesday Book, and other documents, both earlier and later. The result is an exciting total picture which will be widely welcomed by specialist students of environmental studies, as well as by the general reader who loves and wishes to understand his countryside.
