New York: Crown Publishers, Inc., 1954. First edition, signed by Holbrook on the front free endpaper. Very good copy in worn dustjacket. A picture history of American rural life. Brick colored hardcover with green cloth spine, color illustrated dustjacket. Extremities lightly rubbed, mainly the lower corners, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages with an additional name at the bottom of the front free endpaper, no other markings. The mylar protected dustajcket has some shelf soil and considerable edge rubbing, faded spine, some chipping, mainly along the spine, fairly little paper loss.. Signed by the Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
