First edition of this beautiful Gilded Age production showcasing the famous "Gibson girl" style that the artist popularized - with an autograph letter signed by Gibson. Images of the feminine ideal in the age of Art Nouveau from its most influential US practitioner, in a large format presentation. Including a letter in which Gibson expresses his regrets that several drawings a patron is interested in have since left his possession. A beautiful book. 11.5'' x 17.5''. Original half cloth, paper pictorial boards. Printed on coated paper. Illustrated in black and white. Autograph letter signed tipped onto front fly leaf. Gift inscription to title pages, dated Christmas 1894. Binding with some toning and spots of soil to front. Interior with a bit of soil but overall clean and fresh.
