Pp. 32, the title page and one decorative initial printed in red & black; narrow f'cap. 8vo; printed paper wrappers over card, lettered in green and decorated in olive/brown, slightly soiled and creased; uncut; upper hinge tender, bookplate of Herbert Grant Smith (inscribed in ink 'With Christmas Greetings 1947') tipped onto verso of upper free endpaper, small ink margin to fore-edge margin of page 9, a little light foxing; T. N. Foulis, London, 1905. Little Prose Masterpieces Volume Seven. *Both essays are from Essays of Elia. Herbert Grant Smith was a member of the Charles Lamb Society and edited the society's Bulletin from 1948 to 1972.
