The front pastedown and endpaper are discolored, probably from some paper . which was kept in the book.. 1925. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. This is the 1925 Lippincott edition, Illustrated with B/W photos and facsimiles of letters. The 1909 first edition published by Hermitage Press was limited to only 1000 copies for sale in the immediate Richmond area. The author's sympathy for Poe takes special interest from the fact that one of his poems was written to "Helen", a member of the Stanard family whom he knew and loved. ; 8.5 x 5.5 x 1.75 inches; 382 pages .
