I. Straight and sound, cloth treated with protective varnish, losses to head- and tailcaps, corners bumped, occasional foxing: Very Good.

Stowe's second antislavery novel, written in response to the Kansas-Nebraska Act, with a main character based on Denmark Vesey and Nat Turner. Preceded by the English edition. BAL 19389.
