London: Geoffrey Bles, 1958. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. First UK Edition. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Publisher's brown boards with pale blue lettering to the spine. A dusty top-edge and faint offsetting to the end-papers otherwise a VG+ copy. Signed by the Author to the title page: "with love from/ Gwen". The dustwrapper is about VG and is worn, torn and creased with minor loss at the base of the spine. Photographic-style dustwrapper. "A five-year-old girl knows the secret identity of a murderer, but refuses to talk out of fear....this was a well-written, character-driven story with a fair amount of plot tension and some delightful snarkiness in conversations of many of the characters" (GoodReads).
