Sobre este artículo

Duncan, British Columbia, Canada: City of Duncan, 1990. Soft cover. Very Good. In Very Good Used Condition. May Have Minor Wear/Tear to Edges and/or Corners. For More Information on Condition, Please See All Photos. The book explores the city's collection of over 40 beautifully carved totems scattered all around the city. Each totem has a rich history behind it, making it a must-see on your visit to Duncan. The book is based on the project initiated in 1985 by Mayor Douglas Barker. The project was designed to attract visitors to Duncan and involved the commissioning and acquisition of totem poles for display on downtown streets. The totem pole collection is located on the traditional lands of the Quw'utsun' (Cowichan) people. The book also includes the original stories told by the artists for each of the poles. These stories were gathered with the help of the volunteer Totem Sub-Committee, which consists of dedicated community leaders who had the vision for this exhibit.
