This is a wartime reprint of extracts from two Churchill speeches delivered in the House of Commons on 4 May 1909 and at King's Theatre, Edinburgh, 17 July 1909. This pamphlet was first published as "The Menace of Land Monopoly" by the Henry George foundation in 1941. In 1942 the pamphlet was retitled and republished as "On Human Rights". The publisher's introductory note states: "In now publishing these extracts it is hoped that Mr. Churchill's eloquent and emphatic criticism of the present Land System will not be lost sight of in the post-war reconstruction for a New Social Order of which so much is being heard." The pamphlet measures 7.125 inches tall x 4.75 inches wide. It is sixteen pages in length with stapled cream colored card wraps. Laid-in are also 2 letters addressed to Mr.Thygesen, also SIGNED by Sawyer. One of the letters includes a personal handwritten postcript to Mr. Thygesen, and a list of page references in the 2 volumes for Mr. Thygesen to look-up. A warm asscociation copy with 2 interesting associated letters. One of the letters is partially darkened (but clearly readable) by offsetting of a newpaper clipping which is also laid-in.

This book is in fair condition. The front, back and spine of the cover boards has wear. The edges of the cover boards are worn also, and the corners have been bumped quite a bit. The dust jacket is in poor condition. The front, back and spine of the dust jacket is extremely worn. The edges are frayed and the corners are bumped beyond repair. There are numerous tears and the dust jacket is soiled. The first end page is stamped with the library's mark. The second end page is written on by the previous owner. The pages are tanned and yellowed , but clear from all markings. "The most significant period in the career of Francis Marion was that between August 15, 1780, and September 8, 1781. The books in this multi-volume set are in very good condition. There is almost no wear on all three books in this set. The front, back, spine and cover boards are in very good condition as well as the edges. There is minor bumping on the corners of all three books. The previous owners name is written on the inside of the front cover boards of all three books. The pages of all three books are tanned and yellowed but clear of any markings. This multi-volume set contains the complete plays of Eugene O'Neill.
