[Ausonia, Peru]: Daphne Zileri, printed by Ausonia S. A., no date [2000]. First edtion, this copy inscribed, signed & dated in ink by Daphne Dougall de Zileri at the title page. Tall square octavo (9.75" x 9.5"), 121 pages, profusely illustrated in black & white from photographs. Original gray cloth lettered in silver at the spine & upper cover, in pictorial dust jacket & white light card box with "Duos" printed on the front panel. Text in Spanish.
A fine copy in fine dust jacket. Box lightly soiled, with moderate edge wear, otherwise very good.
The noted photographer's second & last book, preceded in 1996 by "Soliloquios." Ms. Zileri, who was the first female photographer for Caretas magazine, passed away in 2011.
As characterized by Mario Vargas Llosa, Ms. Zileri's photos "... express different cultures. However, there is in them an extraordinary unity. They seem to have been taken in a single place, among people from a single community. It seems that all the landscapes are a single landscape.
