Exhibition presenting the extraordinary private collection of Bahian decorative arts of Carlos Costa Pinto, a collection of ornamental, utilitarian and religious objects created during the colonial and imperial periods belonging to the old aristocratic families of the sugar plantations of Bahia. The exhibited objects include diverse forms of silver and gold religious and domestic objects and Creole women's jewelry including the unique examples of the iconic balangandan clusters (Penca de Balangadans), charms traditionally once worn around the waist by Bahian slave women.
