Sobre este artículo
Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1924. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 10.5" by 7.5". Not Stated. A limited edition copy of this account of a dinner given in London by General Paoli, in honour of Earl Percy. The first edition, and no. 389 of 550 limited edition copies, of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Illustrated with nine plates and a folding map. Collated, complete. Harold Murdock (18621934) was a Boston banker, book collector, and Director of Harvard University Press. He wrote several books on English and American history. This work recounts a dinner given in London by General Paoli, the Corsican patriot and refugee, in honour of Earl Percy, in 1778. The guests include Mr Boswell, Doctor Johnson, Mrs Anna Williams and Thomas Pennant. Although Murdock uses research concerning these well-known figures, there is some artistic license used. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, though a little bumped to the extremities, with a couple of marks to the front board. Front hinge is slightly strained but holding firm. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last couple of pages. Very Good
