Volume II consists of 496 illustrations on 334 plates. Second Printing. Bound in cloth with titles present to the spine. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks, binding tight and solid, boards lightly rubbed and worn to the extremities. If you are seriously interested in Northern Renaissance art - work by Van Eyck, Rogier, Campin, Memling, etc. - you must read Panofsky. Although many of Panofsky's theories have since been challenged, he laid the groundwork for all subsequent studies of the work of this era. He is surprisingly readable and accessible even to the lay reader. EB; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 573 pages .
