Hume Brown Hardback, 1891, first edition, illustrated, with maps including one foldout, published by David Douglas, Edinburgh, 300 pages + xxvi and section of maps/genealogical tables. Octavo/8vo, measures around 9 1/8" by 6 1/8" by 1 3/8". Ex-library book with typical markings, stamps, etc. Deep burgundy-brown cloth binding, gilt crest to front board, gilt lettering to spine. Some discolouration to spine, rubbing to edges, fading to gilt lettering, reference numbers to spine. Tearing at top of front outer hinge, spine edges and corners, which are bumped. Scuffing, marking and some signs of shelf-wear, though reasonably clean. Binding a bit slack and inner hinges cracked, though textblock reasonably firm, if strained in the odd place. Page edges browned, scuffed and a little rough at upper edges. Some marking to page surfaces but reasonably clean. See pictures for further information.
