Steve Richmond, Earth Books & Gallery, 1966. First Edition. Broadside. Near Fine Condition. Unfolded broadside ca, 17" x 22", folded it would make four 8.5" x 11" pages. Inscribed by RIchmond "10,000 Printed 12 folks arrested not guilty". Light wear to one corner, slightly rumpled.
The inscription refers to the 4 year obscenity trial over the issue title. Though 10,000 were printed (though many seized), issue 2 never appeared. Steve Richmond was the heir to a minor fortune which he spent running Earth Rose Books and on heroin.
In the trial transcript: Kurt von Meier testifies that if he were to label one of the words obscene it would be "hate" not "fuck". Size: Octavo (8vo). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Poetry; Inventory No: 048110.
