A small hardcover book bound in 3/4 golden-brown leather with marbled boards, foredges, and endpapers. Near-fine condition! The edges are lightly rubbed and the spine label is a bit crackly-looking. Early owner's signature on the first blank leaf, dated 1868. Margins faintly yellowed with age. Otherwise, pages clean and binding secure. An attractive 19th-century binding with gilt decorations on the spine. Sturdy and collectible quality! The first American edition of this epic poem by British artist and conservationist of the Arts & Crafts Movement, William Morris (1834-1896). Measures approx. 6.9" x 4.75
