One of 500 limited edition copies of the first edition, first impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Ink inscription to the front free end paper.Illustrated with a frontispiece. Maurice Hewlett (1861-1923) was an English historical novelist, poet and essayist. He was an extremely prolific writer of his time, publishing a number of historical novels, plays, autobiographical works, essays and poetry collections. This was the author's debut work, and comprises a piece of travel writing on the subject of Italy. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with fading to the spine, a little bumping to the corners and small marks to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Marginal age toning to pages, which are otherwise clean. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
