First edition of a rare work on agrarian economics in the original Portuguese. 2 vol., titles with woodcut royal arms, folding lithographed plate, errata f. at end of vol.2, armorial ink ownership stamp to upper corner of vol.1 title, later pencil marginalia and underlining, mostly in vol.2 (the odd instance of blue pencil), occasional spotting or light staining, attractive period mottled calf, spines gilt and with red morocco label. [Innocencio I, 185], Lisbon, National Printers, 1835. WorldCat records only two copies in Portuguese, of which one is defective. Both are in US University Libraries. xi 328pp 438pp (2 errata) folding plate of horse. Vol 1 covers breeding cattle, making butter and veterinary care for sheep goats pigs and domestic animals. Vol 2 is devoted to equestrian care and breeding. Also contains an interesting pharmacopeia and herbal for animal use.
