Collection of six Trollope short stories, all of which had appeared in Saint Paul's Magazine between October 1869 and May 1870. The stories are loosely connected: a magazine editor (Trollope was the editor of Saint Paul's) is approached by various people about stories to be published, and in each case he uncovers a tale behind the tale.Bound in an attractive late-Victorian period cloth binding. Book is very good++ and very bright. Edges lightly rubbed in places. Contents good. Library bookplate to end paper and stamps to the title page.
