Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Moderate tanning to spine and edges. Book has a forward lean. Boards are bowed. Water marks to boards and spine.

GB: Hodder & Stoughton, 1940. Burgundy red cloth lettered in gold on spine. Looks unread but with minor shelf wear. Top edge slightly spotted. Book is slightly out of shape and there is some minor discoloration/spotting to covers. . 1st Edition. Hardback. VG+/No DW.

Good for age but a bit loose and with some discolouration to page edges and some spotting to first and last pages in somewhat bumped and marked boards with wear to spine. No dustjacket. All illustrations and maps present.
