He has published twenty books (crime novels and short stories) including 'Sanctus', 'Cake-Walk' and 'Lundi perdu' (Lost Monday) published by Rivages Noir. He received the Grand Prize for crime fiction in 1989. 'Effroyables Jardins' (Strange Gardens) was adapted for film by Jean Becker in 2003.
