Scarce, first Hungarian edition of Gogol's iconic short story, Diary of Madman, published as an exclusive volume of lithographs by the Hungarian graphic artist, László Boris. The present copy of the luxury edition includes Boris' striking, original watercolour cover design.

László Boris (1897-1924) was a Hungarian illustrator, graphic artist and caricaturist. In the 1920s he worked for the German Art-Nouveau magazine, Simplicissimus.

Extremely scarce, we could trace only three copies in institutional holding, all in Hungary. WorldCat locates no copies.
