Map of the Nile frontis, three additional plates, one folding,. Original blind decorated cloth with gilt stamped title to front. Spine ends chipped, some staining to cloth. Very good.
Somewhat obscure, privately published book meant to serve as an introduction to Egypt's antiquity. Chapters include genealogy, Egyptian monarchy, ancient language, religion, institutions, social developments, Hieroglyphical Books of Taant, and the Pyramids. Nicely illustrated with plates.
We find little mention of this book save for a 19th century Nottingham Public Reference Library list. OCLC cites copies only at the Bibliothèque Nationale and Universitätsbibliothek in Trier. .
