First edition, signed by the author on half title page, bound in full yellow cloth with girl's portrait in red and black on front board, 8vo, 160 pages, black and white illustrations by Louis Darling; boards smudged and worn at extremities; tattered dust jacket with taped repairs inside spine and front panel, one inch chip out at head of spine, spine sunned, original price of $2.00 present on front flap. Beverly Cleary's second book deals with the friendships of grade-school girls and the boys who torment them. This is the book that introduced Otis Spofford, who gets his own story in Cleary's fourth novel. Scarce.

Sinopsis

Ellen Tebbits is a juvenile fiction novel written by Beverly Cleary, her second book for kids and young adults. It was illustrated by Louis Darling and was first published in 1951. Even though the story is set in the 1950s, Cleary's knack for creating stories that are relevant even today is very much visible.
