Stiff wraps. 8vo. pp. 144. Good. Cover (35 cents) taped, chipped at rear with pages toned. First appearance of the hilarious tale, ÒThe Adventure of the EmperorÕs Dice,Ó based on the script for the radio show which originally aired on March 31, 1940. Contents scanned. The "once in a lifetime" caption was for the Gallup Poll declaration of the stories of the eight best mystery writers of all time. EQMM was launched in 1941 and by 1951 a monthly pulp with Dannay [Daniel Nathan] 1941-82 as Editor and his Brooklyn cousin Manfred Bennington Lee [Emanuel Benjamin Lepofsky] 1905-71. Over the course of over 40 years, they wrote more than 30 novels and several shorts collections 1929-71. Dannay also wrote under pseudonym Barnaby Ross and several juvenile novels as EQ, Jr. EQMM is still published today by Dell Magazines/Penny Publications with Janet Hutchings as current editor 1991-present (2019)..
