INSCRIBED BY WARREN in characteristic red ink on title page, "To/ Walter & Jane/ affectionate greetings/ Red/ [underline]/ Fairfield, December 1, 1974/ [underline]." Walter Sullivan (1924-2006) was an author, critic, longtime Vanderbilt University professor, authority on Southern literature and -- along with Warren -- one of the founding members of The Fellowship of Southern Writers. His wife, Jane Harrison Sullivan (1923-2022), taught English literature at Aquinas College. 8vo gilt-stamped black cloth boards; top edge yellow; 102 pages. Fine in near fine dust jacket with light wear and touch of finish separation to spine ends and corners.
