Consists of four books, paged separately and gathered into one: A preliminary essay (Emigration in its practical application to individuals and communities, 93 pages), Australia (233 pages), New Zealand and South Africa (123 pages) and America (Canada and United States, 133 pages). John Hill Burton (1809 - 1881) was a Scottish nationalist, economist and author. (Very scarce. Excellent condition for age. No foxing. No map of Australia, as suggested by another copy for sale.).
