Sobre este artículo

London: Book Club Associates, 1985. Hardcover. Near Fine,/Fine. A very bright neat copy in publisher's black boards with gilt lettering to spine, 291 pages. Light spotting to edges, very faint offsetting to free endpapers, all else fine. A young boy has to fend for himself when the Japanese invade Shanghai. A lovely copy. Sinopsis

Empire of the Sun is a 1984 novel by J. G. Ballard which was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Like Ballard's earlier short story, "The Dead Time" (published in the anthology Myths of the Near Future), it is essentially fiction but draws extensively on Ballard's experiences in World War II. Ballard later wrote a sequel, entitled The Kindness of Women.
