NY, NY: Avalon Books / Thomas Bouregy, 1959. Inscribed by Author on Title Page / 224 pp., light gray cloth w/ black lettering; Book shows minor bumping to bottom fore corner of front board; a few very small gray spots to edges of boards & to bottom edge of rear endpapers from deteriorated adhesive from original "Plasti-Kleer" jacket cover; previous owners small bookplate and inscription (referring to author's inscription & signature) to front pastedown; Jacket shows slight fading overall; slight wrinkling to jacket overall, esp. to front panel, visible when viewed against the light / Owner's inscription to front pastedown reads: "Autographed next page. Her father was my 2nd cousin - we grew up together at Delta Center near Lansing, Michigan." Author's inscription to title page reads: "To. Mr. and Mrs. Olin Dryer, who were good friends of my father. I was so glad to meet you, & I hope you enjoy the book. J. Hunter Holly." Signed books by this author seem to be quite rare. Also, this is the first edition of the author's first book. On the front flap the jacket states "Plasti-Kleer Jacket Covers on all Avalon Books." NOTE: The original jacket, which was the type with the faux wood grain edges, was removed because of it's deteriorated condition, especially along those edges, and has been replaced with and archival-grade Brodart jacket cover. / . Inscribed by Author on Title Page. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good +/Very Good +. Illus. by EMSH (Ed Emshwiller - jacket art). 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

The best way to do this is to use the 'search inventory' function on this page, rather than the 'browse' function, since 'search' accepts not only keywords, but author, title, publisher and other information. For example you could enter the keyword 'mystery' to see all mysteries in stock, and you could further refine your search by selecting the 'first edition' option as well, thereby displaying only first edition mysteries, etc.
