Sobre este artículo
Kota Kinabalu: Opus Publications, 2012. Hardcover. New/new. Whereas the infamous Sandakan-Ranau death marches at the end of World War II have been fairly well documented by Allied POW survivors and others, English accounts of Japanese soldiers' experiences are not so common. In an effort to redress this, the editor, RW Braithwaite, whose father was an Australian POW survivor of the marches, presents this translated account of a Japanese conscript. Although Ueno expected to fight for his emperor, instead he had to cope with exhaustion, starvation and disease which wiped out most of his comrades on the march. The book is bilingual in English and Japanese. 280 pages with some black and white photos and indexes. Weight: 1.1 kg. Post free within Malaysia, but, due to its weight, this book is likely to incur additional postal charges when posted outside Malaysia
