Very Good. 5 x 7 7/8 inches. 1 ffep + title + iii - lv (preface) + 3 leaves (contents) + 328 numbered pages + 2 rfep. Bound in full brown calf. Front hinge starting but holding firm. Rear hinge with slight separation at head. Spine with six compartments separated by raised bands and remains of gilt decoration in compartments. Slight loss to head of spine, and some wear to edges and rounding to corners. ESTCT78046. Manning was a Roman Catholic priest who was sent to the English mission in 1692. "Stylish, learned, and dialectically convincing, Manning produced a string of polemical works that rank him as one of the leading figures in that silver age of English Catholic controversial writing."
