There are two detailed chapters on the origins of coloured printing and of the methods of book illustration from 1500 to 1800. These are followed by 22 detailed chapters on individuals, publishers and the development and improvement of methods and techniques to the twentieth century. There are appendices on colored books with plates by Baxter, Ackerman, Rowlandson, Alien. A picture of this book is available on request by email.
