Blue cloth covered boards have as-new gilt text on spine only. Tiny bit of edge wear at base of spine. Book is stiff to open and appears to be unread. Unclipped (£ 14.99 net) DJ has oversized flaps, the rear one has a B/W portrait of author by Isolde Ohlbaum. Rear top corner has tiny closed tear, top edge has light edge wear especially around head of spine. Book is quite rare in this state. Digital images available on request. Sinopsis
The English Patient is a 1992 novel by Sri Lankan-Canadian novelist Michael Ondaatje. The story deals with the gradually revealed histories of a critically burned English man, his Canadian nurse, an Italian thief, and an Indian sapper in the British Army as they live out the end of World War II in an Italian villa. The novel won the Canadian Governor General's Award and the Booker Prize for fiction.
