In Revising The 1793 First Edition Of Political Justice (1793) In 1796, Godwin Remarked That He Had Not Yielded "A Proper Attention To The Empire Of Feeling." He Further Thought That "Not Only The Passions Of Men, But Their Judgments, Are To A Great Degree The Creatures Of Their Sympathy." These Judgments Contradict His Earlier Opinions In The First Edition That Reason Alone Can Determine Human Action.
