Overall a solid copy. ; Pages vii, xxxii, 368; Codex Probationum 204; 8 of 10 folding plates and facsimiles in the rear. Full brown calf; lettered, decorated and ruled in gilt; raised bands; red leather spine label; marbled pastedowns and endpapers; all edges stained red. Armorial bookplates of John Patrick Crichton Stuart, 3rd Marquess of Bute on front and rear pastedowns, the latter being larger (approx. 5"x7") and more elaborate in design. Text in Latin. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; Ambrose Eichhorn (1758-1820) , here traces the history and work of Swiss Bishops and Abbots from the origins of Christianity to the 18th century. .
