Dent, 1894. 12mo, first edition, pp. [ii], 222, red morocco boards with gilt lettering and floral decoration to spine inside 6 compartments with raised bands, French fillets to front and back, Riviere & Son gilt-stamped into a front turn-in, dark blue endpages, top edge gilt, gravure plates of Robert Browning, Dante Rossetti and John Keats, inscribed by the author on a flyleaf: "With good wishes of Hamilton W. Mabie" and dated 1905. Lit crit covering Dante, Browning, Keats and Rossetti; other essays more generalized. Condition of this book: Minor marks on covers, bit of preliminary foxing, overall near fine. Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting.
