Profusely illustrated with calligraphy and paintings by Dorothy Boux. H P Blavatsky (1831-91) was a controversial Russian occultist, philosopher and author who co-founded the Theosophical Society in 1875. During her travels to India and Tibet in the 1850s she tells us that this was engraved on tablets in an ancient language.
