(cdn) Chapter 6 isentitled "Dependencies in America" and includes studies of theAthabaskans (Chippewa), Algonquin, Iroquois, Sioux, Assineboine, Eskimo,Koluch, Nehanni, Dogothi, Atsina, Quadra, Haida, Nutka, Atna, and Nascopi. Interestingly, Latham refers to the Beothucks of Newfoundland-"either cruelly exterminated , or to exist in such small numbers. "(1851).
