Sobre este artículo

New York, New York: Funk & Wagnells, 1939. New and Enlarged Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. Provides an insider's glimpse of early 20th-century high society & its mores & manners, in this book of "how-to's" for every possible social situation that might confront the modern hostess/host or upper-middle-class person of good breeding in the 1930s. Orig. published in 1922 & revised & enlarged over the years, this is the Seventh Printing from Mar. 1939 of the Compete New Edition from 1937, "rewritten, revised, reset," illustrated with vintage black-and-white photos & "facsimiles of social forms." In 877 pages, this hardcover 8vo has rich blue cloth-covered boards stamped in gilt lettering to front & spine. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, binding straight & strong, though evidence of regluing at gutter or half-title page; hinges intact. Pages creamy white & unmarked, with a whisper of tanning to all outer edges; front endpapers show heavier tanning from old magazine clipping on manners (McCalls, 1957), laid in. Former owner's name & date (1939) on ffep in light pen. Very mild rubbing to extremities & lightly bumped corners. Lacking DJ. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received Weekdays by 2 pm (PST); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. Sorry: book is too large & heavy for expedited domestic or any international shipping without preapproval of extra postage per USPS rates.
