Bound in half-leather with marbled boards and endpapers, raised bands and gilt stamping on the spine. Original front wrapper is bound in. Some foxing on preliminaries and blank endpapers. The text is clean and in fine condition. This was Carleton B. Chapman's copy with his bookplate on the front pastedown. Dr. Chapman was Dean of Dartmouth Medical School, President of The Commonwealth Fund, and a medical historian.
