Great condition copy of "EUGENE ONEGUINE (Onegin)" - A Romance of Russian Life in Verse by Alexander Pushkin. 1881 1st edition; The Macmillan Co.; London. Rare first English language edition of Pushkin's masterpiece. Translated by Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Spalding. "Eugene Oneguine" is considered a classic of Russian literature and its eponymous protagonist has served as the model for a number of Russian literary heroes. Pushkin was a Russian poet, playwright and novelist of the Romantic era who is considered by many to be the founder of modern Russian literature.

Condition:
Clean covers and spine; tiny cloth tears at 3 of the corner tips; bright gilt on the front cover and spine; small cloth tear at the bottom edge of the front board near the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Clean interior with no writing, stains or tears found; some light foxing at the top of a front end paper and the opposing half title page, and to the last blank end paper. Many of the pages are still attached along the top and outer edges. Overall a wonderful condition copy.
